Manchester City 2 - 3 Manchester United

Paul Scholes returned to play in the field. Owen Hargraeves play against Manchester United. And United won the derby at home to Manchester City. The Magic of the FA Cup, eh?

Before the game starts there are two things for sure. City has a very long unbeaten run at Etihad Stadium and Paul Scholes have retired during last season ended. And two things are indisputable overnight. City finally subdued at home and Scholes Manchester United back to play defense. Outside the presence of Scholes in the list of players, all players selected by Sir Alex Ferguson and Roberto Mancini are the best. Only, City minus Yaya Toure who should go to the African Cup.

The hosts started the match very well: surrounded the United defense and looks very dangerous. However, 10 minute walk, it was United who managed to shush City tens of thousands of supporters with his header. Antonio Valencia back add to the coffers assistnya with a sweet crossing completed perfectly by Rooney's header. 1-0.

Controversy emerged several minutes later. Tackle two feet Vincent Kompany is not about Nani. However, Rooney ran into Chris Foy and protest the incident. The referee thought a moment and then issue a straight red card for captain of the City. A huge blow.

The game was suddenly disorganized City and United could exploit this condition to the maximum. A brilliant goal Danny Welbeck took the visitors ahead 2-0. And the smell of the slaughter began to be felt when Foy gave a penalty for United after Kolarov down Welbeck in the penalty box. Rooney took it, pushed over, and finish with a header. 3-0. United also end the first half with a 3-0 advantage and have more one player. Looks easy?

Nope. In the second half, Mancini went very good strategy. City managed to balance the game 11 players United and make the 45 minutes that should be easy for the visitors into a thriller. Kolarov started the comeback City and direct reply to his mistake in the first half with a beautiful free kick to beat Anders Lindegaard. 3-1. Game on. To look forward to the United fans had come too. Paul Scholes returned to the field to replace Nani. Contribution? An error that started the City's second goal. Sergio Aguero could make a living United and the fans it is difficult over the last few minutes with the tally 2-3.

Mancini also provide a little aura of nostalgia by including Owen Hargraeves to play against former team. City did not stop pressing. But United's back line this time manages to look pretty solid - if somewhat chaotic - to thwart all the opportunities created. One of them is Kolarov free kick (again) that pushed Lindegaard. Scores did not change until the final whistle. Manchester United's 1-6 defeat was their reply to Manchester City by getting rid of their tournament wins last season, the FA Cup. Full Time. Manchester City 2. Manchester United 3.
